Community Contribution & Human Resources Management!
We’ve got some more shiny things for our trophy cabinet…
On Friday August 12, the winners of the 2016 Australian Business Awards were announced, and we’re delighted to say we came up trumps in two categories, against some pretty big names.
The first award we received was a Community Contribution Award for our Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
We were in some pretty impressive company here, with other winners including LUSH, Brisbane City Council, The Good Guys, Vodafone Foundation, Veolia and Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing.
Here’s what our CEO, Tricia Velthuizen, had to say about this award:
‘At Churchill Education, we have a philosophy of being a river, not a dam.
We aren’t a body of water with defined borders, but one within a network of other rivers.
We recognise that we don’t operate in isolation, and we’re grateful to the communities we operate within for the support they provide to us, and for the opportunities we’re given to support them.

We’re honoured to be recognised for our Corporate Social Responsibility program with this Community Contribution Award, and look forward to continuing our relationships with those in our local, national and international communities for years to come.’
We also received a Human Resources Management Award (based on our employee leadership development program, the Wingman Program).
Other winners in this category were Westpac, Toxfree, CHEP Australia and Tradies (The Sutherland District Trade Union Club).
This award recognises organisations that have inspiring human resource management initiatives, and we’re proud that our Wingman Leadership Program falls into this category.
‘The Wingman Program that we developed has strengthened our teams, solidified our culture, cultivated valuable working relationships across departments, improved our business practices and inspired new ways of working together as a company,’ says Tricia.
Thank you to Hands Across the Water, Samford State School, Mates 4 Mates and all of our other partners, to the other winners for keeping the bar high, and of course, to The Australian Business Awards!
